Emily’s doing another challenge this year called remember when…and I’ve decided to join in. Emily is going to write a journal entry about a memory and post it to her blog and to flickr her first memory was about Nana. My Granny lived at the other end of the country to us when I was growing up so we didn’t see her very often when she did come to stay though she would stay for a while. every morning I would take a cup if tea up to her bedroom and then she would let me play shops with her make up and stuff. granny always wore Ellnett hairspray the smell always reminds me of her.

I’m using a tin from Christmas to store my journaling in

in side the tin is a sneaky peak of the next prompt which I will write about soon.

From spindle to coaster

From spindle to coaster

Having attended Fibre East over in Thurleigh last week I became inspired to try spinning wool on a drop spindle. I bought myself a beginners kit which included an Ashford spindle made in New Zealand. I’ve been having a play and I still have along way to go but I have thoroughly enjoyed crocheting this little drinks coaster from my very first spun wool.

Fantastic book

Fantastic book

Inspired by a forum over on Ravelry I bought this fab book for £2.97 I decided to wait on the free delivery so no postage costs. Ordered on the 1st it arrived today the 6th from some where in Europe. Isn’t it fab.Had a play already with this cool little hexagon. Whether I’ll have the patience to crochet the whole blanket I’m not sure but we are expecting a great niece in September so maybe a baby one.
